Ideas springing from a light bulb

Insight can easily be confused with Intuition. Although they’re similar in many respects, they are fundamentally different.

For one thing, Intuition says: “I think the answer is this, although I can’t fully explain why.”

Whereas Insight says: “Wait…where did THAT idea come from?”

Putting it another way, with intuition, there’s usually a judgment or conclusion. With insight, there’s an arrival.

Warning #1! Because of the nature of this topic, this is a different type of Playground. You are advised not to work out on this Insightfulness Playground until you are comfortable with some of the other Brain Games here at The Thinking Gym. Because….

Warning #2! Unlike most other Brain Games where we give the mind something to do, here the trick is to give the conscious mind something to work on, then deliberately get it out of the way.

In summary, the purpose of these Brain Games is not to arrive at a particular solution or answer, but rather to create opportunities for ideas to arrive unexpectedly, notice them when they do, capture them before they disappear, and explore them without immediately strangling them with analysis.

Now that you’re clear on how this particular Playground works, use its Brain Games to help you develop 20/20 insight!

The 3 Brain Games in the 20/20 Insight Playground are designed to support each other in a three-part 20/20 Insight workout.
